2. Saving Mr. Banks

Yikes, don’t hurt me for putting this at number 2 instead of the number 1 spot. I will defend my decision. It was indeed a tough choice. When it comes to movies this year, the story of how P.L. Travers and Walt Disney brought Mary Poppins to the big screen is a phenomenal tale that rivals any and all films this year. Easily one of the best without question. Full of charm, heart, and emotion, this movie was a Disney lovers dream. So expertly crafted to blend drama, story, and movie magic, this film hits you right in the feels.

Bouncing between two different time periods, Saving Mr. Banks holds nothing back to deliver a complex, deep story that does not rely on predictability and formula that make billions and billions of dollars. Instead we get what every movie-goer should get, a film that wants to entertain and enlighten. It’s why we go to the movies. Of course a few dollars on the side isn’t bad and this movie should have no problem making it. Great performances all around with familiar and striking settings and energy, Saving Mr. Banks gives you everything you can want in a more in a film. If you love Disney, you will be certain to see this one and buy it for DVD/Blu-Ray in the near future.
